Simple Feedback Control and Mode Switching Strategies for GDI Engines
نویسندگان
چکیده
A novel approach to the control of a GDI engine is presented. The controller consists of a combination of sub-controllers, where torque feedback is a central part. The sub-controllers are with a few exceptions designed using simple linear feedback and feedforward control design methods. Special mode switch strategies are used to minimize the torque bumps during combustion mode changes. The controller has been evaluated on the European driving cycle using a dynamic simulation model, including a powertrain model and a driver model, with good results.

The main goal of this research is to design a new digital controller for a boost-switching converter in Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM), which operates in Voltage Mode Control (VMC). Boost converter transfer function in the mentioned modes have one Right Half Plane (RHP) zero and a pair of complex poles while their places are severely dependent on input voltage, reference voltage and converter...
متن کاملSoft Switching MBC Controller for MIMO Linear Hybrid Systems
Switching supervisory is the most important section of a feedback control process inMIMO hybrid systems. By choosing a non-compatible controller, system may go tounstable mode or high overshoot response. In this paper, a new method of switchingfor selecting MBC controllers is discussed. Results of the simulation show the MIMO(2-in 2-out) linear hybrid system can be switched stable and low overs...

In spark ignition (SI) engines, the accurate control of air fuel ratio (AFR) in the stoichiometric value is required to reduce emission and fuel consumption. The wide operating range, the inherent nonlinearities and the modeling uncertainties of the engine system are the main difficulties arising in the design of AFR controller. In this paper, an optimization-based nonlinear control law is a...
متن کاملSliding Mode Idle Speed Ignition Control Strategies for Automotive Engines
In recent years it has become apparent that control system design based on conventional linear transfer function or state-variable feedback suffers from several serious disadvantages including: i) It requires an accurate model, which cannot be attained by current identification procedures ii) The control is not robust to unstructured uncertainties such as additive or multiplicative parameter va...
متن کاملDesign of a Novel Framework to Control Nonlinear Affine Systems Based on Fast Terminal Sliding-Mode Controller
In this paper, a novel approach for finite-time stabilization of uncertain affine systems is proposed. In the proposed approach, a fast terminal sliding mode (FTSM) controller is designed, based on the input-output feedback linearization of the nonlinear system with considering its internal dynamics. One of the main advantages of the proposed approach is that only the outputs and external state...
